Nearby are the villages Clifden (13km) and Recess (8km/ shop, pub and petrol station only). But also the pretty village of Roundstone (14km) situated on the Atlantic ocean. Inisboffin, the island of legend and folklore, can be visited from nearby Cleggan. Also a good base to visit the Aran Islands (45 min. from Rossaveal where the ferry operates).

Road/Car: Follow the signs for Clifden (N59). Pass through Recess and the youth hostel is onthe right hand side approximately 8km further on.
Bus: Bus Eireann: Galway - Clifden service passes by the youth hostel, alight at the gate. Michael Nee Coaches 095 34682 – drop off directly at hostel.

Night Life
Naughton's Pub, Clifden: You can hear traditional music every night at this popular pub, which stands at a busy little crossroads in the heart of the old town. Grab a spot at one of its old-fashioned partitioned snugs at lunchtime for an inexpensive selection of imaginative bar food. It's a good place to mingle with local actors, writers, artists, musicians, and students.
