Sligo, with its miles of coastline, rich farmland, lakes and mountains is known the world over for great beauty, glorious golf, fishing, horse riding along beaches or through country lanes and wonderful towns and villages.
Here you have the capital of the North West of Ireland, Sligo, from where you can travel to many places of interest, where history, culture and heritage mix with ease in the modern city life that is Ireland today. There is natural beauty everywhere, Hazelwood forest by the shores of Lough Gill, places made famous by the Yeats Family and in particular W B Yeats.
Visit the Yeats Memorial Building in the centre of Sligo before visiting Lissadell House and Drumcliffe Church. Take a walk through the centre of the town and see Sligo Abbey, St John’s Cathedral, Hargadan’s Pub. Take a 5 minute drive to Rosses Point and walk along the beach for miles or go to Strandhill and try some surfing in the Atlantic Ocean followed by a Sea Weed bath on the Prom. Shopping is a wonderful experience with local crafts available throughout the county and at night Sligo has pubs, restaurants and clubs to keep you busy.
