An Slua Croí
- A Retreat Rooted in Irish Ancestral Wisdom
Friday, 14th August – Sunday, 16th August 2026 - Knockree Hostel, Glencree Valley, County Wicklow
An Slua Croí - A Gathering of Hearts Retreat
Rooted in the spirit of An Slua Croí - the Gathering of Hearts - this retreat draws inspiration from the deep well of Irish ancestral wisdom, where healing was always woven through connection: to land, to story, and to one another.
In the old traditions, practices such as Imbas (intuitive insight), pilgrimage through the landscape, tending sacred fires, and gathering in circle were central to restoring balance in body and soul.
Much like the Lughnasadh festival, which honoured the first harvest through community, gratitude, and ritual, this weekend invites participants to slow down, listen, and realign with the rhythms of nature.
Through movement, stillness, storytelling, and shared meals, we echo the ways of our ancestors - remembering that healing unfolds in community, nourished by the land beneath us and the wisdom carried within us.

About Your Facilitators
An Slua Croí retreat is guided by two facilitators - Fionnuala Ní Mhairtin and Liam Carroll - both with experience in Women's and Men's Circles. Together they will lead you in a heart-based connection to yourself and to the land.
Fionnuala Ní Mhairtin
Fionnuala is a multi-disciplinary practitioner with a strong foundation in yoga teaching, and is also trained as a Nutritional Therapist. In recent years she became a Consciousness Medicine Practitioner, integrating energy into everything she does.
Fionnuala is passionate about life and all it has to offer. Her approach to movement and the body is always evolving, with a deep love of Somatics at its heart. Her aim is to help people connect to their bodies with ease - and a good bit of fun.
Liam Carroll
Liam is an avid nature lover with a deep connection to the land. A native of the Burren in Co. Clare, he has spent many hours connecting to nature spirits and the wisdom the landscape holds. With a background in community development, Liam loves the dynamic that emerges when people gather in a group.
His aim is to help people open their hearts by connecting more deeply to nature.
Together, Fionnuala and Liam wish to create a safe space where people can slow down, feel, and explore a deeper connection - to the body, to the breath, and to the land. And of course, to have lots of fun along the way.
